Both as an 유흥알바 individual, as well AS a licensed massage therapist of more than ten years, I have seen how sometimes unpredictable the ways our emotions can be expressed through our bodies. During a massage session, changes on both the structural and chemical levels may result in emotions being brought up within the client.

When emotional release occurs in a massage session, it can be seen as a natural process, with the client experiencing a healthy change of body-mind that leads to greater balance. Remember, emotional release in a bodywork session is not uncommon, and is in fact a natural, helpful part of the purifying, rejuvenating massage process. Depending on the strength of emotional release, you may have to interrupt your massage in order to let your client attend to their emotions as they surface.

Let her know that her emotional processing is productive and can support the positive results that she is experiencing from the massage, and allow for as much time as she needs. If your client has emotional releases throughout the course of your sessions, be supportive, make them aware that this is a natural process that may happen in massage, and use the tools presented here to help you navigate through those rough waters. Since it is unavoidable for your clients to experience emotional releases during your massage table, it is important that you receive additional training in this area so you are equipped to appropriately support your clients. Either way, your massage therapist will have been trained in helping you through that emotional expression and support you during that time.

Massage therapists are used to seeing these emotional expressions coming from their clients, and they are trained in helping you to feel safe and supported during the times that these events may overwhelm you. Massage therapists need to learn how to handle these emotional releases in ways that are supportive to their clients and keep the integrity of the therapeutic relationship.

Some massage therapists take this a little too literally and try to manufacture emotional releases on their massage clients. These areas of stored emotions will usually start releasing as soon as a massage therapist begins placing their hands into the area initially. Deep tissue massage often results in significant emotional release of negative emotions stored within the body for years. When you get a massage, your muscles and tissues are released emotionally, in much the same way that they are released physically.

On a similar note, because physical tension is reduced and relaxed throughout a clients body in massage, emotions held by tight patterns are released. These reactions are generated from releasing deep-buried, painful emotions, which individuals are rarely able to control. In massage school, we are taught to gently acknowledge the clients emotional reaction while they are lying on the table, and to encourage them to breathe in the areas where they are feeling pain.

The clients feelings are what are telling them where they are and teaching their body they can relax and heal. When the somato-emotional reaction occurs (or is about to), a noticeable change can be felt in the clients energy feelings. This rush of emotions is the way that the body is clearing out these feelings, which is very normal and healthy. Accepting an intense burst of emotion and allowing your body to let go of that energy will help your body find its own way back into the healthy, balanced state that it wants to be.

It is simply your incredible mind and body working in sync to let the buried emotions rise to the surface, which can very well help bring some closure on the incident in your past. Let us peel back the layers on how and where emotions are stuck, so that you can free yourself of the things that are holding you back. You might never know what an emotion is, but your clients may come away with a deeper understanding of their distress, what causes it, and what it means personally. Rather, it is about leading your clients into a state of nature, where emotions trapped inside of them can release themselves.

There are some therapists that specialize in doing bodywork specifically to deliberately access the deep-held emotions in their clients. Those therapists not trained in the phenomena of emotional release may also recognize when emotional strain is present, and holding space for others to express this vulnerability for a moment, then helping them return to the present moment. These may include individuals who request an extreme deep tissue session because they literally cannot feel, and are physically and emotionally numb.

Emotions we fail to process and release get trapped in body tissues, where it eventually causes pain, decreased range of motion, and other ailments. We may find emotions where we are experiencing areas of the body so restricted that the energy flow, fluid flow, and craniosacral movement are restricted. When you stretch or get a massage, you are opening the physical and emotional spaces of the body for healing.

While everyone who has experienced massage knows that it is a soothing experience, fewer people realize the neurochemical changes created by a healing touch, which all have the potential to enhance our sense of emotional wellbeing. Research shows that although massage is certainly a “feel-good” experience, there are countless benefits for the mind and emotions associated with neurotransmitter and hormone release from therapeutic touch. While we have seen massage increase our feel good neurotransmitters and hormones, it also helps decrease ones that create uncomfortable feelings associated with the stress hormone.

The increased levels of these neurotransmitters produced through massage may modulate, and even enhance, your mood, energy, motivation, and mental focus, which improves your emotional state. The possibility for somato-emotional release in massage to heal trauma is very possible for trauma clients.
